Russian press spox: Trump’s N Stream-2 statement attempt to sell LNG
MOSCOW, Jul 12 (PRIME) – The statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about Russian gas pipeline project Nord Stream-2 is unfair competition and an attempt to force Europe to buy U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG), presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
“Concerning attempts to, let’s say, organize attacks on this commercial project; we have reiterated that this is a sign of unfair competition. This is nothing but an attempt to force European consumers to buy costly LNG which can be shipped from alternative places,” Peskov said.
Trump said on Wednesday that Germany is fully controlled by Russia by gas supplies, which is unacceptable because the U.S. and Germany are partners in NATO, and the U.S. ensures Germany’s security by spending more in the framework of the organization.
